Beef and Blackberry Dog Food

This vibrant purple dog food is full of healthy antioxidants to round out your dog food meal plan!

This meal honestly looked amazing! And Finnegan was all over it! With the sweet potato and blueberries, apples and blackberries, I imagine this would be almost desert like... a meaty desert that only dogs will love! To get started:

I cooked up 2 pounds of ground beef and some beef kidney. The kidney I simmered in a pan with shallow water, and the ground beef was cooked with a bit of dog safe oil.

I cut the kidney into small cubes while I cooked the sweet potato in the microwave. To cook sweet potato in the microwave you simply pierce the skin all over with a fork and do 6 minutes on one side, flip and 6 more minutes. If your sweet potato is really thick this could need more time.

Take the sweet potato out of the skin and mash into the beef and beef kidney.

From there I chose to sprinkle a few whole berries into the food to create, small bursts of flavor and then blended blackberries, blueberries and a cored apple in a food processor to make smooth.

Once complete I mixed together and served it up!

The recipe: Please always do your own research or consult your vet before making food for your own dog. Each dog is different in terms of nutritional needs.

Cook 2 pounds of ground beef in a dog friendly oil. I used canola.

Steam in water a beef kidney until cooked and cut into small pieces.

cook three small sweet potatoes in the microwave or process of your choosing. To microwave, pierce the skin with a fork all over and cook for 6 minutes, flip and then another 6 minutes until soft and mashable when you squeeze it.

Mix the two types of meat with the sweet potato until the sweet potato is mashed and incorporated.

Add in 1/2 cup of whole black berries.

In a food processor add 1/2 cup of blueberries, 1 cup of blackberries and 1 whole apple cored to remve the seeds. Blend well.

Mix all together.

This will last for 3 days in the fridge, or approximately 3 months if sealed and frozen.
