Steak bites are an awesome appy! They are versatile and can take on several flavours. So much like I did, you can present the same steak several different ways to accommodate the taste buds of all of your guests!
To start I used a high quality sirloin cut and BBQ'd it to a medium with my homemade meat rub. You can use any BBQ or meat seasoning that you love.
Once cooked I sliced the steaks up into bite sized pieces....
I grilled up some red onion in a pan, to soften them up and bring out the grilled flavours. I paired this with sliced Bocconcini cheese. I paired this one with a lime dill aioli. Get the aioli recipe here.
For the second one... I grilled up fiddle heads with a bit of garlic and oil until tender. I cut up cubes of blue cheese and stacked these together. This does not need a sauce as the flavours of it are bold enough on it's own.
The third style, I cut up and cored raw jalapenos. I paired this one with a southwest aioli. You can get the aioli recipe here.
Placed together these look creative and delicious! It offers variety to your guests with minimal effort.
