I can never get enough of these! Seriously!! These get coined sometimes as Maui Ribs but no matter what they are called they have a wonderful rich flavour of soy, garlic and ginger, that makes me happy. And why not when they are so easy. I try and marinade these for as long as possible, so if you do this the night before, this could be a meal that takes 10 minutes to complete..... another reason I love them!
The marinade is pretty simple:
1/4 cup soy sauce
1/4 cup rice vinegar
3 Tbsp of sesame oil
1-2 Tbsp of crushed garlic
1-2 Tbsp of crushed ginger
probably 1 Tbsp of sugar, but that is to your individual taste.
I layered the short ribs in a shallow baking dish and coated them with the marinade and refrigerated. You can also do this in a ziplock bag if you prefer. The marinating should be for no less than an hour and you should shift the ribs around at least once to sure complete coverage.
When they are ready to serve, warm up the BBQ .... these will only need less than 4-5 minutes as side.
Once complete cut up into individual ribs and serve with fresh cilantro on top.
