Meat Times 3, Dog Food... and of course Brown Rice and Spinach for Good Measure!

The organ meat forward homemade dog food to balance out a weekly homemade diet.

I love making my dog homemade food... I know what's in it and that makes me feel good. I feel the need to nsure I tell everyone that I am not a nutritionist or a Vet and that and meal plans should be fact checked for your specific breed, age or size of dog! This is what I feed my Irish setter/poodle blend... but that might not be great for your dog and I don't pretend to have an all size fits all food plan for all dogs! What I can do, is give you ideas for blends of food you can modify to your own dogs dietary needs!

I started with chicken breast that I boiled in water until cooked and chopped into bite sized pieces.

Because organ meat is a great source of nutrients, in this dish I added both chicken gizzards and chicken hearts... I boiled both together in water until done!

In the mean time I cooked 1 cup of brown rice in 2 cups of water and some dog safe oil like Canola oil and cooked in a covered dish in the microwave for 20 minutes.

Once the meat is done chop finely and add to the rice and add some frozen spinach.

Mix well together! This meal is so good your dog will be willing to let your kids do this to him/her... simply because they can smell it cooking... just sayin'

Our dogs just don't agree to this... am I right?

Here is the meal

The Recipe:

2 pounds of chicken breasts - boiled in water

1 pound of chicken gizzards

1 pound of chicken hearts

boil in water until cooked

1 cup of brown rice cooked in 2 cups of water and 1 Tbsp of oil and cook in microwave for 20 minutes until done.

chop all of the meats finely and add to the cooked brown rice! add in some frozen spinach while still hot and toss until well mixed.

individual portion and serve.
