The French Toast Croissant

With Organic Nutiva (like Nutella) Strawberries and Icing Sugar! Some times you just have to treat your self!

So I wasn't sure making French toast from a croissant would work... but according to my children it absolutely worked. I say my kids, because this beauty is full of dairy and I can't eat it! So for those of you that can... I'm jealous! I'm sure I could find some vegan croissants out there and then this could be a go! If anyone knows of any awesome vegan bakeries, let me know!

To start this off I cut the croissants in half and mixed up 2 eggs with some milk!

I melted some butter in a hot pan and soaked each croissant in the egg mix and soaked thoroughly before adding to the pan.

These grilled up beautifully!! I was super impressed! Meanwhile I cut up some strawberries to add to the middle.

I try to use as many organic products as I can, so when I found Nutiva which is a chocolate hazelnut spread similar to Nutella, I was super happy about it! So were my children! Same thing with the organic icing sugar! I've always been a bit leery of sugar and whether it's authentic or sugar beet sugar, so this Wholesome brand really eased my mind on giving my kids this "treat".

This couldn't have been easier to make and certainly looks fancy and restaurant quality! Definitely brunch worthy for guests as well! Let me know if you give it a try! I simply spread a thin layer of the Nutiva on each side of the now french toast croissant and a light dusting of icing sugar inside before stacking up the sliced strawberries and closing it up! Dust the top lightly again with icing sugar and serve!

Great combo. Had not thought of using a croissant! Brilliant!
