Wild Caught Italian Shrimp Cocktail
With Warm Marinara and dairy free Parmesan!

So Shrimp cocktail is my go to at a party.... if anyone brings a shrimp wheel... I make sure I land my self a choice spot at the kitchen counter right in front of it. And I love cocktail sauce! the tomato and horseradish is amazing.... but what if you could branch out? And this could be mind blowing.... but what if its better? I know!
I was making an Italian themed dinner and I wanted to make a quick appy with some wild caught shrimp we had. I can't break my theme so I went to the pantry and found this.....
Sorry about the blurry picture... rookie mistake! But you get the idea.. a marinara like sauce, organic to boot, just as I like it. But I couldn't stop there.... this had to be great, and yet so easy!
Dairy free parmesan! This is the first brand I have tried, it was a win! It melts great, has a comparable flavour and I now love it. If you can eat real parm... good for you go for it! I simply put this in a ramekin and heated in the microwave for 1 minute. That was enough to warm the sauce and melt the cheese. In the mean time I tool some wild caught shrimp and boiled them in water until pink. Chilled them out under some cool tap water and shelled everything but the tails.
Once you have shelled your shrimp and hopefully while still slightly warm, place then along the rim of the ramekin, plunging them into the warmed parmesan marinara sauce! It is so simple but honestly it is so good. It changes peoples perspectives because to look at it, it reminds you of the traditional but then its warm and rich versus cold and spicy, tangy! Its a win for sure!
